Introduction
Cryptovoxels is an powered virtual world similar to Decentraland. Anyone can visit Cryptovoxel’s virtual world and explore the exciting content being built inside.
While Decentraland has yet to launch, it has got significantly more media attention likely because the $ volume of its land sales is attracting millions of dollars. Meanwhile, a land in cryptovoxels cost around 10–15 times less expensive, despite already being open to the public.
Cryptovoxels as a game is more similar to Minecraft. You can add or remove different types of blocks to build any shape you want. You can even further decorate it with images, audio, art, texts, hyperlinks, and so on, making virtual shopping, art galleries, and advertising possible. The limit is really up to the imagination of the estate owner, which is why I think this virtual world has a lot of potential.
Land distribution
With over 600 parcels, in Cryptovoxels is distributed fairly well as over 80% of all land is sold. The owner/founder B.Nolan is currently holding on to around 120 pieces of land (19.8% of total).
Few whales exist in this world such as 0xf3860788…, Tristlist, buddha, 0x76ac6b8e… and they own a combined total of over 100 pieces of land.
Land Value
The value of these land comes from the scarcity and finite supply. Network effects of games and platforms such as this will also determine Cryptovoxel’s success and land value in the future. So far, the price seems to be more stable than ether. When ether prices go up, Cryptovoxel’s land is sold for less ether. When ether prices are lower, lands are sold more ether.
Cryptovoxels have a build height limit, which means there are different lands with different limits to how high you can build. Most of the lands have a limit of 6 floors high. It appears that lands with higher height limits become exponentially scarce, which may be a strong component in determining the value of a piece of land in the future.
Lands with a height limit of below 10 floors contribute to more than 70% of the Cryptovoxel’s world. This may make tall buildings ≥10 floors or ≥12 floors a premium in the future. Another reason higher height limit is desirable is due to the fly toggle ability that currently exists in the game, where players can fly around to explore the world. This makes tall buildings more visible and visually striking, with more advertising potential.
Lands on Cryptovoxels, just like Decentraland, becomes exponentially more expensive as one go toward the center of the map. Current valuations of these pieces of land sit at around 500–1000$ at the time of writing.
