Every year, food waste results in a global economic loss between $55 billion and $93 billion. Ed Corno, Chief Technology Leader at IBM, believes that blockchain technology has the potential to greatly reduce the amount of wasted food by maximizing the efficiency of financial transactions, particularly across the supply chain. In his presentation at our annual Industry Conference titled “Technologies Shaping the Future of Global Supply Chains,” Corno shared some examples of IBM’s successes in implementing blockchain to reduce cost and increase supply chain visibility.
