I read it a while ago. Like I said, why rush it? There’s no need for it yet & implementing it before pools are ready only pushes miners away. I commented about this in the previous thread & dev thanked me for the heads-up, then BAM – it’s happened anyway. It doesn’t make any sense to do it before miners/pools are ready for it.
thats why its being tested extensively, dev could have released it untested a long time ago just like some other coins did and then faceplanted on bugs that led to hardforks and problems.
i cannot comment on pool readiness but afaik dev has been in contact with major pools, and also runs a segwit ready pool
I talked about it in the Viacoin telegram.
Yes rushing is useless. Right now I’m concentrating on fixing more on the vialectrum client side wallet.
So here’s what I said in the Viacoin telegram room.

I need to do some final fixes on electrum. Got a small issue to fix.
When that’s fixed, I will execute the next steps. Electrum client will be Segwit ready & it’s possible to support Ledger nano & Trezor
The client needs to be renewed, because the 2014 one is unacceptable for a professional coin.
And yes a lot of people use it, I don’t want to hear any transaction problems when they start using it (like people will make a lot of transactions when Segwit singaling starts)”
