The GLBC promotes the use of blockchain technology for the legal industry; it is also developing standards to govern the use of blockchain technology in the business and practice of law. The consortium focuses on a range of issues, including data integrity, authenticity, security, and privacy for documents; interoperability between corporate legal departments and law firms; and productivity improvements in the operation of legal departments and law firms. The GLBC also supports its participating organizations that want to explore the use of blockchain through Proof-of-Concept projects. During this briefing, both current GLBC participants and prospective members are invited to come and hear an update on the use of blockchain technology in support of legal departments and law firms, as well as an update about current activities and the GLBC roadmap.
