We've been running this hackathon series for 5 years. Previous sponsors have included, Lloyds Banking Group, Thomson Reuters, IBM, Bank of Papua New Guinea 5th Element Group and ABT Associates. This year's challenge will be announce closer to the event. Get in touch if you would like to sponsor and set the challenge. Previous challenges have included: Creating a ICO, leveraging blockchain for municple services, Blockchain for the unbanked… We expect between 400-700 registrations for this event. Previous winning ideas including IDbox and GovBlocks have been piloted by sponsors and have become startups in their own right. The most recent winner got to present their concept at the United Nations in New York. Teams will form at the kick off event on Friday, Feb. 8th. At Cocoon Networks in Moorgate. Each teams needs at least one developer. Coding isn't the only skill you need to win. On Saturday morning, teams will regroup and begin working on thier project. You have until 11pm at the venue (This is not an overnight event). On Sunday morning we regroup again at Cocoon and polish up the concepts, prototypes and begin preparing presentations. At 2pm, teams present to judges and winners are announced shortly after all teams have presented. Winners will be given the official scorecard in advance to ensure that everyone is on the same page. All projects submitted must be partially coded during the event. The use of open-source code and APIs are exempt from this coditioned. Teams are to present the projects they registered at the beginning of the event. Any deviation must be approved by the organizers.
