What is the point of litecoin?

Please don't shoot me down immediately here, but I am curious what the point of litecoin is going forward. I bought a little bit last year when BTC fees were high, but now that the issue is fixed (my exodous wallet actually shows lower BTC fees than LTC) I've transferred it back into BTC. It has less adoption than BTC (that could change, but it seems unlikely to catch up), is a bit faster, and maybe a bit cheaper?

My question is, long term, what role do you guys think LTC will play in the crypto economy that makes you guys believe it will have significant value going forward. When would merchants be accepting LTC but not BTC, when would LTC be more convenient etc?
