But there is much more to the technology behind bitcoin and Etherium than is generally understood. Most analysts agree that this technology has a great potential to value delivery models across industries. Our panel of experts will separate the hype behind the buzzwords to reveal the real business value of this promising technology, and cover the implications of blockchain technology for financial, insurance, manufacturing and other sectors. Learning Outcomes: Gain perspective on how various industries are leveraging this hot technology Discover the essential elements necessary to make a good case for a blockchain-based solution Understand concepts associated with building a blockchain network Rob Valdez, CPA, CISA, CISM, Cybersecurity & Compliance Manager, Kaufman Rossin Roberto Valdez specializes in information technology advisory and assurance services, leveraging technology to help businesses mitigate risk, protect their information and achieve their goals. He works with clients to identify, manage and combat cybersecurity threats such as phishing attacks, ransomware and data breaches.  He provides cybersecurity, information security, IT governance, risk, and compliance services. In addition, he spearheads PhishNet by Kaufman Rossin, a security education training and awareness program delivered through simulated phishing attacks. Rob’s IT assurance expertise includes service organization controls (SOC) reports, HIPAA security compliance, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance.    Roberto Machado, CEO, BetaBlocks Roberto is the co-founder and CEO of Betablocks, an education platform and venture builder focusing on enterprise Blockchain. Betablocks is a member of Hyperledger, the open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies. He is also a Managing Partner of MarketFit accelerator and a mentor at Google Developers Launchpad in SF. He is an active member of the Tech Coast Angels in Los Angeles, the largest angel investment group in the US and has done 20 rounds of investments so far.  He holds BAs in Management and in Economics from Wittenberg University (Ohio), with MBAs at the EU Business School and at Coppead UFRJ. He also has a degree in Venture Capital from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business. Mickael Salabi, Founder, CEO & Fund Manager, Tokenpot Capital Management Mickael has been a blockchain enthusiast since 2012 and has participated in many projects during the past six years including being an early investor in bitcoin, Ethereum, Iota, Qtum.  Mickael combines his technical knowledge and business experience of the market to make his own way into the complex ecosystem of distributed ledgers, being among the earliest adopters to apply an investment strategy focused on long-term fundamentals. Formerly, Mickael established himself as an expert in large-scale e-commerce systems, acting as a technology director, software engineer and lead architect in various Fortune 500 companies, including Rexel, Grainger, McKesson, Whirlpool, UTAS, Blount, Dell and others. Mickael holds a Master’s degree in computer science and business from EPITECH Paris with cross studies at California State University in Long Beach and now lives with his family in South Florida.   Dan Kieffer, Fifth Third, Director of Alternative Strategies and Equity Research Dan Kieffer is the Director of Alternative Strategies and Equity Research for Fifth Third Bank, where he is responsible for both long- and short-term investment themes for both individual and institutional investors. With more than 10 years in the investment management industry, Dan is a member of each of Fifth Third’s dedicated asset class committees where his research is a key input driving short term strategy decisions about equities, fixed income and alternative strategies. Dan writes and speaks frequently about financial market, economic and investment issues. In addition to his responsibilities at Fifth Third he also serves as a presidential appointee to the Greater Cincinnati Home Builders Association Board. Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in international business and operations management as well as a Master’s of science in finance from the University of Cincinnati.
