2018 was quite the year for the cryptocurrency space, a space which many maximalists do not even believe should include BTC. There is a growing voice of “bitcoin, not crypto”, where BTCers are creating a divide between BTC and other cryptocurrencies as they believe that BTC is different and should not be tarnished with the bad publicity regarding many of the other projects.
While BTC prices have also dropped, there was a considerable amount of good news in 2018: from the rise of institutional products and the growth of the Lightning Network.
In this episode, I talk with BTC Maximalists Matt Odell from Rabbit Hole Recap and Neil Woodfine from Blockstream. We discuss what we would like to see for BTC in 2019, challenges BTC companies face and BTC education.
Blockchain-powered ad exchange AdEx will partner with video entertainment platform Stremio to deploy its solutions in the platform’s application.
AdEx to Team Up with Stremio
is an ad exchange that offers blockchain solutions for the entire online advertising industry. It seeks to entitle end users to decide which ads to see by specifying their preferences and to ensure transparency and fairness for advertisers and publishers.
Stremio, on the other hand, is a semi-open source video entertainment platform launched in 2015. It is designed to host and deliver any kind of video content within the same application. Stremio app has been downloaded by 4 million people so far.
Just like other video platforms, monetizes through third-party ads. However, most advertisement placement solutions entail non-transparency and complexities related to bidding and publishing and are widely criticized within expert communities.
About the AdEx Advertising Platform
that ensures automatic payouts for ads to publishers, and guarantees transparency to advertisers. The work on AdEx’s solution is still underway, but the parties have agreed to deploy it when the AdEx team completes the development.
