DJUMA SOUNDSYSTEM (Get Physical, CrossTown Rebels)Djuma Soundsystem has toured the whole world over 5-6 times, playing many of the most important underground clubs and festivals but has yet to play a show in space… The Norwegian DJ and producer Mikkas, might be better known as "Djuma Soundsystem", the creator of the modern classic "Les Djinns". But "Les Djinns" is just a minor part of Djuma Soundsystems achievements. He's been doing quality underground releases on many of the most respected labels for almost one and a half decades now. Djuma Soundsystem used to be a duo in the beginning, but Mikkas has been going solo for quite some years now. He has kept the trade mark sound, stretching between disco, house and techno, always with a clear focus on a deep feel, melodies and lots of room for emotions. His aim is to produce real songs without vocals, more than just dj tools and grooves. It's catchy, but still underground, and it can make a festival crowd go mad, as well as an intimate club.Steadily he's kept on releasing mix CD compilations and tracks on labels like Neurotraxx, Rebirth, This is, Eskimo, IO, Toolroom, Elite, Audiomatique, Get Physical, Soundz, Fukai, My favorite robot, Conya, Noir and more. He's remixed, or been remixed, by artists like Tiger Stripes, Noir, Moby, Trentemøller, Uner, Maya Jane Cole, Aki Bergen, Antix, Umek, Martin Landsky, Kolombo, Hardfloor, Lee Van Dowski and Dean Demanuele, just to name a few. As Djuma Soundsystem he has played venues like The End (London), Space (Ibiza), Zouk SG (Singapore), Blue Frog (Mumbai), D-edge (Sau Paulo), Kazantip (Ukraine), Truth (Johannesburg), Hardpop (Juarez), Maria (Berlin), Indigo (Istanbul), Warehouse (Beirut), Cocoon (Frankfurt), Nevermind (Sydney), Cielo (NYC), Stadium (Jakarta), Space (Miami), Watergate (Berlin), Kristal (Bucharest), Krysha Mira (Moscow) or festivals like Fusion (Germany), Roskilde (Denmark), Reworks (Greece), Exit (Serbia), Universo Paralello (Brazil), Way out west (Sweden), Sunburn (India), Hove (Norway), Free Fat Festival (Ukraina), and the biggest gig of all – playing the last hour counting down to midnight at Baha beach in Rio on new years eve 2009, – in front a crowd around one million people!Recent work includes a remix of Son Little for Get Physical, which made it to the top 10 chart of beatports deep house list https://www.beatport.com/track/drowning-feat-son-little-djuma-soundsystem-remix/9700153and a new e.p. on Chapter 24: https://www.beatport.com/release/disambigua/2113629Djuma also had the honor of being invited to compile and mix the next "Body language" comp for Get Physical, which is in the making now while he's on the road. In recent times Moniker has taken a step back from the club scene, yet continues to dedicate tedious hours on his productions. The mastermind of ethereal techno is one of the most recent members of the Purple Room (a DJ, art, and technology collective in Honolulu focused on spreading awareness of sustainable concepts through unique parties). The Purple Room features several talented local artists and has taken Honolulu by storm with their unique sound and design of solar powered soundsystems. Moniker only increases this credibility by bringing his musical expertise to a group of young enthusiasts. http://www.purpleroomhi.com/moniker/https://soundcloud.com/berniesdiction/dischargeFATHOM (Asylum Confidential) Rooted deep within the vast Pacific ocean, a surge of sound is making waves. A boundless spectrum of sonic frequencies, controlled by an aboriginal conductor who transcends the ordinary. Fathom Kanekoa, a native Hawaiian DJ and producer, is no stranger to good music. With a creative ear that shows no boundaries, and an unquenchable thirst for new sounds, Fathom is undoubtedly the perfect alias for this forward thinking talent. Growing up with an eclectic taste for music and its many styles, his greatest influences are truly expressed in the sets he plays and the music that he writes. As an avid b-boy of over 15 years, Fathom truly has an inherent love for dance, fueled by a passion for quality music. Beginning his DJ career in the 90's during Arizona's peak underground rave scene, Fathom mastered the craft in a very short period of time. Spending countless hours perfecting his skills, he not only mixed the vinyl that he collected and cherished, but he also trained in the art of turntablism. Teaching himself how to scratch and juggle samples and beats to create new sounds and patterns, the young prodigy acquired skills that go far beyond that of the average DJ. Returning to Hawaii in 2005, Fathom wasted no time and immersed himself in Honolulu's booming nightlife scene. Reuniting with his brother and fellow DJ Bernie's Diction, the duo began doing parties of their own, staking their claim on the 808 state and grabbing the attention of some other local heavy hitters who were also making some serious moves of their own. Ultimately joining forces, together their efforts helped pave the way to something much greater, and united a group of friends and talented artists to form more than just a crew, but a family. A new hybrid of club. A place called Asylum. In the past few years, Asylum has become the most notorious club in Hawaii. An after hours freak of nature, it has not only become a household name, but has also spread its wings internationally. Voted #50 on the worlds top 100 clubs list by DJMAG, Asylum has connected Hawaii to the rest of the electronic music world. Consistently bringing out talent from all over the globe and influencing the ears of the people of Hawaii and beyond, this intimate after hours club continues to build its reputation. As one of Asylum's original resident DJ's, Fathom is a force to be reckoned with. Known for his versatility behind the decks, he has an innate style and distinctive sound that can draw people to the dance floor and keep them there. To him, Djing isn't just mixing tracks and twisting knobs. It is creating a unified sound that can bring people together. His sets will take you on a journey into the depths of intelligent underground music. An aural exploration that begins deep within his mind, streams through the speakers, and passes through the heart and soul of each listener. Creating an indescribable energy that can only be shared by those who dive in head first. He consistently interweaves a mixture of Deep House, Tech House, Techno, Nu Disco and Breaks. His music is laced with elements of hip hop, disco, classic rock, 80's, and more. Perfectly blended together into a concoction of harmony that can only be described as intergalactic, subterranean funk. Deep, heavy hitting baselines that penetrate your core, suck you in and spit you back out onto the dance floor. His sets are unpredictable. His music will intoxicate you, elevate your spirit and leave you wanting more. He has played along side some of the biggest names in the industry, including Tim Green, DJ T, Tanner Ross, Soul Clap, Lee Burridge, Claude Vonstroke, Sian, and Shonky (just to name a few). He has even tag teamed with Justin Martin himself. The list goes on and on. He has destroyed dance floors at numerous clubs and festivals such asThe End Up, Love Fest, Global Dance, Burning Man, and was most recently featured on the 2016 BPM Festival line-up. With his sights currently set on music production, he is constantly working hard in the studio to create his own sound. With current releases out on Waska Records and Asylum confidential, including a remix from Dirtybird's own Ardalan, Fathom's music is sure to grab the attention of listeners from all walks of life. With the success of his most recent hit, “Hot Summer Street's”, he shows no sign of decline and will continue to push the boundaries.https://www.beatport.com/track/hot-summer-streets-original-mix/7511430https://www.facebook.com/Fathom-Kanekoa-DJProducer-236033313142269/
