Shark Relay is an 0x Relayer, and represents the next generation of exchange technology that allows token transfers peer-to-peer, or in other words from one user wallet to another user’s wallet without a third party being involved. Relayers display and manage orders created by users, but do not hold assets or execute trades themselves as would be the case with a third party exchange. Users, through special programs called 0x Smart Contracts can “make” or create an order which can in turn be “taken” by someone who accepts the order. Shark Relay facilitates Makers and Takers in creating, finding and completing posted Orders, which become settled transactions on the Ethereum blockchain via Øx protocol.
