Michael Hool, Hool Coury Law Michael Hool is our founding Partner and is a pioneer in the field of venture formation and financing in the Southwest and California. Aakash Jain – Investor at Venture University Previously, he was an advisor to several seed and growth-stage startups on their operational and fundraising goals, predominantly focused on the fintech and consumer verticals. Before that, he sourced and evaluated investment opportunities at Jump Capital in the areas of robotics, fintech, agtech and cybersecurity. Earlier in his career, Aakash developed algorithms for automated trading at Morgan Stanley. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Booth School at the University of Chicago, and a Masters in Computer Science from Cornell University. 忙しい人のためのLiberal Radicalism – Unchained – 0. 概要 ペーパーの目的を一言で表すと、「公共財である分散型、自己組織化エコシステムの(ほぼ)最適な提供を可能にするための、慈善的または公的資金による播種を提供すること」です。これを聞くとDAO(自律分散型組織)を思い浮かべますが、その違いは公共物の最適提供を可能にする慈善的な方法をカバーしているかそうでないかだと言えます。 このアイデアはGlen WeylがRadical Marketで提唱したQuadratic Voting(以後QV)を公共物の資金調達メカニズムとして拡張しています。QVは従来の一人1票や定量購買法とは異なり、投票者が購入する票の数の2乗ずつ値段が上がります(例:1票が100円、2票が400円、3票が900円 )。QVにより、多数決ではなく、最も関心の持たれていることに投票されるため、最適な公共物の提供が導かれるという考えです。 Liberal Radicalism(以後LR)は従来のマーケットのリニアーなファンディング原理とは異なり、貢献者による貢献の平方根ルートの合計の2乗です。 後半には金融、ニュースメディア、オープンソースプロジェクト、都心公共プロジェクトなどへの応用例や、中立的で非権威主義的な規則を提供することによって、政治哲学における古典的なリベラルコミュニティー主義の解説についての議論を行います。 1. 序章 著者がQVを使って解決しようとしている問題は大きく分けて以下の3つです: フリーライダー問題による不公平性、資金不足の問題。 一人1票ではプロジェクトの重要性に基づいた選択がされない問題。 マッチドネーションの非効率性。 フリーライダーとは公共物を貢献などのコストなしに利用する人や組織を指し、経済学上での公共物とはnon-excludableかつ、non-rivolourious である — つまり個人の利用を妨げたり、誰か一人が利用することにより他の者の利用を妨げることはできない特徴を持つサービスやモノを指す。i.e. 国防や公園。 マッチドネーションは企業が従業員の寄付をあらかじめ決められた上限までスポンサーするシステムです。例えば従業員Aが寄付$100すると企業から$100のスポンサーを受けるため、合計$200の寄付をしたことになるということです。従業員Bが$1000寄付した場合は合計の$1100が寄付されます。ここでの問題は、従業員による寄付金とスポンサー額の割合が従業員Bだと小さいため、大きな寄付をするインセンティブを適切に与えられていません。よって任意の限度額や割合を決めるシステムの採用が必要です。 まとめると、このペーパーでは、(1)と(2)の問題と、(3)の問題を解決する価値が最大化される最適な任意の限度額を決めるデザインについて議論します。 LRを採用することにより、貢献度の最も高い人の優位性を最小限に抑え、貢献度の最も低い人には貢献のインセンティブを与えることができます。よって最も重要と考えられる公共物がより多くの資金を供給され、かつ一人1票の問題である多数派意見の優位性、少数派意見の抑圧を解決します。 2. 背景 このチャプターはフリーライダー問題に関する言及から始まります。個人が自己中心的な利益のみを追求した場合、他のエコシステム参加者を除くその個人のみが受益者となるため、資金調達総額は受益者の数に比例して増加しません。 国防やインフラは国の徴税によって運営されているじゃないかと考えられますが、ここで焦点を当てられているのは、公共物として浅い歴史をもち、限られた資金のみしか提供されていない公共物です。 第一に、公共物は固定のものではありません。オープンソースソフトウェアやビッグデータに始まり、ジャーナリズムや公共物として認められた方が価値が増加する産業も公共物となるかもしれません。 さらに、小さなコミュニティにのみ価値が認められているもの(資金調達の自伝であまり知られていない、誤解されているなどの理由より)は、大多数のコミュニティからの資金を得ることができません。つまり少数派のコミュニティは民主主義から資金を受け取りにくいです。これが少数派コミュニティが一人1票よりもチャリティや資本主義により資金を受けることが多い理由となります。 以下は従来の資金調達方法による問題点です: […]
