Pause Fest has been described as 'Australasia’s SXSW' and as 'Woodstock for digital natives'. In 2018, they welcomed over 400 startups, 1,200 businesses and over 35 media outlets from across Australia. Over the course of nine years, their event has seen 50,000 movers, shakers and creative change-makers come through its doors.
Pause Fest is built on diversity and inclusion. It's been in their DNA since day dot, and their goal is 50/50 speaker gender diversity for 2019. Diversity and inclusion isn’t optional, it’s essential.
Pause Fest is well-known for their diverse curation presenting only the very best talent from Australia and abroad. In 2019, for the first time the event is bringing the largest cohort of international speakers in the country. Over thirty leaders from global brands like Google, Amazon, CERN, YouTube, Facebook, Cloudflare, NASA, Airbnb, IBM, CISCO, PwC, Tiffany&Co, Smiling Mind and others, along with 200 local heroes and innovators will come together over the three days.
These guests will engage in workshops, panels across seven stages and 21 content tracks from Design, Future of Work, AI, Blockchain, Health & Wellbeing, E-sports, Smart Future, Science, Diversity & Inclusion to Education, E-sports and Music. New program additions include Pause Incubator, Inner Circle and the next iteration of the Pause Retreat.
