Over a month after one of New Zealand’s oldest bitcoin exchanges were forced to shut their doors, a new bitcoin trading platform, BitPrime, launched this week, claiming to cater to “everyday New Zealanders.”

As a centralized platform, BitPrime points to its third-party escrow partner, LocalBitcoins, to ensure assured transactions. When a transaction is initiated to purchase bitcoins, LocalBitcoins will hold the bitcoin in escrow until the payment, through bank transfer or cash deposit, is made.
