NANO Launches Dolphin V18 Node Software

NANO Launches Dolphin V18 Node Software

According to a Medium post published February 22, 2019, the long-anticipated Dolphin V18 Nano node software has been deployed on the Nano network.

Upgrades

After a somewhat encouraging 2018 which saw the Nano (NANO) community launch node software v16.1, the year 2019 started on a bitter note for the organization as it got dragged into a court case on charges of allegedly defrauding investors.

However, with the launch of the Dolphin V18 Nano node software, the community looks to set the momentum right for the rest of the year.

The latest software upgrade brings a slew of optimizations to the Nano network making it more efficient, faster, smarter, and lighter.

Dubbed the “most optimized node to date,” the Dolphin release will improve the network with regard to cached representatives and peers and support for additional local data. Interested readers can know more about the nitty-gritty of the update here.

One of the major offerings of the Dolphin update is the local timestamp tracking feature which will provide the developers a uniform method of keeping a track of time on all the blocks of data added to the Nano blockchain. This ability would help developers build dynamic and robust applications on top of the blockchain’s protocol.

How to Upgrade the Node?

The Medium post mentions certain considerations that node operators must keep in mind before initiating the node upgrade process. Node operators are highly recommended to perform a backup of all node data before initiating the upgrade.

Per the announcement, the upgrade process will involve heavy usage of CPU and IO as it will rewrite all block entries on the network, including the desktop wallets. However, node operators need not worry much about it as it will mostly happen as a background process on the computer system.

The announcement reads in part:

“Due to the database upgrade, any ledger files updated to V18 will no longer be compatible with prior node versions. Please keep this in mind when planning any upgrades and managing any ledger backups.”

With that said, the successful release of the Dolphin upgrade adds another feather to the Nano community’s hat.

The community will now focus on the next important release of the Nano node software – Solidus. Nano enthusiasts can follow the Solidus Milestone Tracker to stay abreast with the progress towards the next node software release.

The Real Dangers Behind The Syrian Crisis Are Economic

alt-market.com / Brandon Smith / Wednesday, 12 April 2017

Back in 2010/2011 when I was still writing under the pen-name Giordano Bruno, I warned extensively about the dangers of any destabilization in the nation of Syria, long before the real troubles began. In an article titled Migration Of The Black Swans, I pointed out that due to Syria’s unique set of alliances and economic relationships the country was a “keystone” for disruption in the Middle East and that a “revolution” (or civil war) was imminent. Syria, I warned, represented the first domino in a chain of dominoes that could lead to widespread regional warfare and draw in major powers like the U.S. and Russia.

That said, my position has always been that the next “world war” would not be a nuclear war, but primarily an economic war. Meaning, I believed and still believe it is far more useful for establishment elites to use the East as a foil to bring down certain parts of the West with economic weapons, such as the dumping of the U.S. dollar. The chaos this would cause in global markets and the panic that would ensue among the general public would provide perfect cover for the introduction of what the globalists call the “great financial reset.” The term “reset” is essentially code for the total centralization of all fiscal and monetary management of the world’s economies under one institution, most likely the IMF. This would culminate in the destruction of the dollar’s world reserve status, its replacement being the IMF’s Special Drawing Rights basket currency system.

Eventually, the SDR basket system would act as a stepping stone towards a single global currency system, and its final form and function would probably be entirely digital. This would give the globalists TOTAL push-button control over even the smallest aspects of normal trade. The amount of power they would gain from a single centralized digital currency system would be endless.
