The upcoming Sun network deployment led to concern of there being a required mainnet upgrade but Justin Sun has taken to Twitter on April 15, 2019, to that both the mainnet and the TRON dApps will be unaffected by the new network launch.
No Upgrades Required
It is safe to say that TRON will be making many big changes in the coming months considering that they have announced the upcoming of BitTorrent Live, their video-based social network, and USDT, their new stablecoin in with Tether.
One change that won’t be taking place however, is the upgrade of their mainnet. There had been speculation that an upgrade of the mainnet would be needed to successfully deploy the new Sun network. However, Justin Sun, the CEO of TRON, has come out to dispute these rumors in an April 15, 2019, Twitter post.
Clarified
As per Sun’s tweet, the activation of the network will not require an upgrading of the TRON mainnet and also will not have any effect on dApps even if they do not switch to the protocol.
This is helping to quell fears that had arisen about how much effect this change would have on other parts of the TRON ecosystem, and it is safe to say that the effect will be minimal.
Speaking of the Sun network, it’s deployment will take place in three main stages. The first stage will take place on May 30, 2019, and will involve the deployment of a test version of the network. Then, on August 30, 2019, a basic version of the network will be activated; finally, the third stage will take place on September 15, 2019, in which TRON will simplify the interaction with pre-integrated modules.
This new network comes with a number of promised benefits such as the inclusion of a cross-platform infrastructure and decentralized side-chain applications. There is also the matter of speed as the network will ensure an increase in the bandwidth of the TRON network which will, in turn, increase transaction speed.
Now that the effects and non-effects Of the new network have been clarified, all that is left is to wait for the first phase of deployment.
