When I first stumbled upon this subreddit, I got the impression that it was most beginner-friendly crypto sub–the best one for people who wanted to know more about cryptocurrency. I think this has a lot to do with its presence on Coinbase and the fact that Ethereum is a big enough name in its own right that people get the gist of what it's all about fairly quickly. But Litecoin is a true "alt-coin," a coin that (on its surface) aims to serve the same purpose as bitcoin, but in a different way. I would guess that a very large number of people would name Litecoin as the first alt-coin they were made aware of for that very reason, and that may be why so many people come to the Litecoin sub knowing so little, and wanting to know more.
In the spirit of that sense of innocence and mystery that brought so many of us here, I wanted to make a post where we discussed the questions we have about how Litecoin works and what its role might be in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Maybe its a question that went unanswered, or maybe the answer didn't make sense, or maybe it's the first time anybody's bothered to ask.
I'm not going to promise that anybody will be able to answer the questions, but sometimes it helps to know that you're not the only one who has wondered about something before. And sometimes the discussion itself is the answer. Or maybe you got so busy day-trading that you forgot that crypto is world-changing technology. No shame there, it happens to all of us.
So r/litecoin, what do you want to know?
