Social login with Google and Facebook, adaptive website for smartphones, and updated job page design
Welcome to our latest development update, with the release of 3. In this post, we’re going to look at some handy new features we have been working on to streamline the user experience for our platform and make it easier and more convenient than ever before for anyone to access work remotely — no matter where they are in the world! Take a look and let us know what you think.
Social login
Security is important, and that’s never been more true than for . At the same time, everyone hates passwords. They choose passwords that are too simple, reuse them for lots of websites, and don’t update them when there’s a breach. Needless to say, that’s a huge issue when you’re storing funds — and have no recourse with a bank or payment processor.
Fortunately, that’s where social login comes to rescue. You can now create a new profile or log in to LaborX using your Google and Facebook account. It gives the same level of security as a regular login process, with just one click on the F or G icons! Look for the social network icons under the login form.
Mobile version revamped
We have reworked the mobile layout for LaborX to match the desktop version. Changes have been made to the home page, authorisation page, personal account and job form. We aim to complete this update of the mobile version to the same layout as the desktop version because so many people use browsers on their smartphones and expect the mobile experience to be at least as good as for the desktop UX. It simply makes sense to have a unified user experience, so our users can seamlessly move from one to the other without confusion.
New Job page design
In the updated Job page you can see more details about the job in question from the client, as well as custom content blocks with formatted text and lists. The new design appears in the My Jobs page both for the Employer and the Job Seeker, and also in the Opportunities page — though the actions available in the menu are different depending on the context. For example, the Employer sees the Edit option for a posted job, while the Job Seeker sees an option to complete a job in progress.
Bug fixes and optimisation
We have also been busy fixing minor bugs and optimising the overall performance of our apps. In this update, we have addressed more than 45 bugs. We have also refactored the code, thereby considerably improving performance.
We hope you’ll notice these improvements, and want to thank everyone who has submitted a bug report and helped make our platform better — please keep doing so, since we appreciate your work!
As you’ll see, we have come a long way and have been making steady progress towards our goal. Please do download and test the most recent versions of the platform and let us know what you think. We’ll be back with another development update in due course, and your feedback will directly inform how we approach certain issues — as well as helping us create the best possible product. Feel free to test the new features on the !
