How to get setup for IOSTPlay! – InACryptoWorld –

A lot has happened since the launch of IOST’s mainnet on the 25th of February. The date of writing this (25/05/19 ) commemorates the 3rd month of IOST officially being live, and for this very purpose I have taken it upon myself to provide these new IOST dapp adopters with a clear wallet walk-through for the current undeniable leader of IOST dapps, IOSTPlay.

Before we do actually get into it, and for those who are still on edge/or more so unsure about what makes IOST worth trying out…

Why IOST? the comparison.

“Proof Of Believability,”

Something which could be said to merge the elements of proof of work and proof of stake systems. Transactions on IOST are assigned between two types of nodes- normal and believable. These ‘Believable’ nodes are picked out based on a variety of factors which include the actual amount of IOST the node holds, the amount of reviews (specifically positive ) a node has received or even the previous actions of the node. In the end, “The IOST network will randomly, and algorithmically, select a set number of validators for each block with believable nodes processing the transactions first. Once their batch is finished, samples of their outcomes are validated and verified by normal nodes, with PoB constantly rotating between nodes and block production.”

Which ultimately leads to “more efficient and decentralized transactions across the network, and therefore higher speeds,” as stated by Co-Founder, Jimmy Zhong.

“Speed”

IOST transactions are undoubtedly the fastest in the whole of the dapp sphere, which allow for a near instant and seamless gaming experience, something which isn’t possible on both Tron and ETH, though EOS has come ‘close’ in this department. These speeds allow IOST gaming dapps to compete with any centralized gaming platforms out there.

The statistics speak for themselves, over 300k accounts created within a span of just 90 days.

“Code”

There are many ways you can create an account, you can find out how to create a free account here https://medium.com/iost/easy-3-steps-tutorial-iost-mainnet-account-creation-and-wallet-activation-guide-aac89ce35c6f. However this method only works from time to time, so you are better off following the steps below at a cost of 150 IOST(which actually only takes 10 IOST in the end).

1. Visit https://iostaccount.endless.game/create and input an account name

In this case we have gone with ‘tutorial123’. Honestly speaking this process can be done at the start or end of creating an account, since you require a registration code to proceed either way.

2. Getting your registration code

Which directs you to https://iostaccount.endless.game/regcode?test=

Here you are given all the required transfer information, one thing to note is you must make sure to use the Transfer memo otherwise it will be impossible to distinguish what account the payment was made for.

3. Going through with the transfer

This is what it would look like in the case of using Binance. There is a 1 IOST transaction fee which you have to factor in yourself, making the whole transaction come to a grand total of 151 IOST.

You will get notified like so once the transfer is complete.

Pressing ‘Go to create an account ‘ as shown in the image above directs you back here, where all you need to do is tick the box below and press ‘Next’.

4. Almost done…

Once you have your private key(please do not forget to copy this and store it somewhere safe !), you are free to import your wallet anywhere, for pc i would recommend: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/iwallet/kncchdigobghenbbaddojjnnaogfppfj?hl=en — IWallet extension.

Or For Mobile…

5. Final Step — Pledging.

So you’ve made an account, and now you’ve probably tried to place a bet and got this message:
