Market Question: The milestone of your CryptoUnlocked campaign. The market question should have the “complete by” date for the milestone. In this example, the milestone is on March 2nd.
Category & Tags: For the purposes of CryptoUnlocked, “category” and “tags” are not too important as the main purpose is not to have a prediction market but rather to utilize Augur’s decentralized oracle. However, people can actively participate in your market by placing bets on if the milestone will be completed, and having the tags can help people to find your market.
Market Type: For CryptoUnlocked, the market type must be Yes/ No (Binary). In our “create your campaign” portal, if your Augur market is not a Yes / No market, you will not be able to create a campaign. The result of “Yes” or “No” determines if the milestone is achieved and if the smart contract should unlock the funds to the beneficiary.
Additional Details: The number one problem people have when creating markets is poor word choice. The additional details section is very important for keeping your market from resolving as “invalid”.
In the additional details, you should specify exactly what is considered “Yes” and what is considered “No”. Be as specific as possible, and make sure that the additional details do not conflict with the title or the resolution. It also helps to guide the reporter on how they can find the result of your market.
Resolution source: Although it says “recommended” under general knowledge, it is good if you can have a resolution source for your challenge. Some challenges may not have a resolution source, and some challenges can have multiple resolution sources. In that instance, you should press the general knowledge button and specify certain sources where a resolution can be found on the expiration date.
Examples:
Will Vitalik wear a suit in public before May 31, 2019? — General knowledge (we can’t know where it will be shared, but we might be able to point to social media as a source)
Will list DAI on their exchange before July 31, 2019? — Source: .com (in this example, the best source would be and so we can list the resolution source there)
Designated reporter: Here you will designate if you will be the reporter or if someone else will report on the market. At the beginning of the “Reporting phase”, the deisgnated reporter will have 3 days to report on the market. If they do not file their report in this time frame, you will lose the REP that you staked to create the market. Make sure you choose someone who will report in those 3 days! The best idea would be to have yourself as the designated reporter to ensure that you can reclaim the deposited REP.
