I just wanted to say that the world of crypto and the communities around the different coins have been a never ending source of fun and insights in human behaviour in times of collective euphoria and crisis.
I invested in different coins late November last year and it was an insane experience. After I bought my first coins, suddenly the market started picking up and I became addicted to refreshing my portfolio apps every minute and seeing everything rise at an insane rate. But many of my friends kept telling me that this whole thing will tank soon enough and I started to worry about my money, so in January I took out my initial investment and only kept the remaining coins.
From this moment on my whole perspective on the crypto world changed: For me, there was no risk involved anymore, so I stopped caring about me and my money and started to pay attention to the social mechanisms that dictate the crypto communities. Memes, sarcasm and humor as ways to cope with losses, the forming and use of echo chambers to reinforce your own trust in something beyond your control, the greedy minds versus the technology believers, the seasoned investors calming the panicking newcomer, the never ending struggle to combine human weakness with tried and tested investment strategies. I just wanted to say to all of you – Thank you for this experience, it was and still is the greatest form of entertainment for me!
