Anonymous sources have confirmed to Bloomberg that Facebook is releasing a bitcoin for use on Whatsapp. It will be a stablecoin used for sending money across borders. This is a huge development, and it represents a tremendous move toward mainstream adoption of bitcoin. Facebook owns both Whatsapp and Messenger. Whatsapp has 1.5 billion users, and Messenger has 1.3 billion.
