Educational Event Synopsis The presentation will deliver a concise, and oversimplified, overview of cryptocurrencies and bitcoin [BTC], while giving a little insight into its historical and philosophical implications. The final part of the presentation will take a brief look at the development of Blockchain Island, the current legislative infrastructure, and new developments in the pipeline. Speaker's Bio Joseph Anthony Debono Joseph Anthony Debono has a number of degrees in disciplines including History and Classics. For many years, he taught History, IT, Latin, Greek and Classical Studies at all levels from 11-year-olds to university students. Since 2016, Joseph has been increasingly attracted to cryptocurrencies and Distributed Ledger Technology and he has been carrying out research, writing and speaking on these technologies ever since. He has acquired certification in Blockchain Business Strategy from Oxford University’s Saïd Business School and is now providing his services as Senior Adviser in cryptocurrencies and DLT to Zeta Corporate and Management Limited. He is currently co-editing an upcoming book on Blockchain in Malta on behalf of the Blockchain Malta Association.
