Crypto investors create security clearance dilemma for pentagon

Ethereum World News is getting wind of a monumental event about to happen today in Singapore. The Zilliqa (ZIL) team is currently on a tour of Singapore and China, in what is a two week tour attending events in the region. The tour started on 14th of May and ends today in Singapore. The aim of the tour was to showcase the project’s progress by giving updates and previews of how the Zilliqa smart contracts operate.

It is with the latter activity that the team would like to demonstrate to us in Singapore today and in a few minutes. The details of the meetup read as follows:

Join us on 23 May, 2018 (Wednesday) to find out more about our progress, which partners are coming onboard, key initiatives and a preview of our new smart contract language Scilla that enables unprecedented security for smart contracts.

Agenda:
18:45 – 19:05 Zilliqa Progress Update
19:05 – 19:35 Session with partners of Zilliqa and other key initiatives
19:35 – 20:05 Demo: Sharding & Secure smart contracts with Scilla
20:05 – 20:20 Q&A
20:20 – 21:00 Networking

The livestream link will be revealed before the event starts on 23 May 2018.

The Zilliqa team has also gone ahead and announced on twitter about the event that starts today at 6pm, UTC + 8. This means that it starts in a few minutes from the moment of writing this article.

With respect to sharding, the Zilliqa project targets the much needed improvements in transaction per second on the blockchain. It aims on improving on where other projects, such as Ethereum, has had a hard time in scaling the transactions per second. We them have situations where Crypto-kitties and Shrimp Farm DApps are clogging the Ethereum network.

Using Scilla, which is a developer friendly, more secure programming language custom made for the blockchain, the mining network is divided into smaller shards that perform transactions in parallel. As the shards grow as more miners get onboard, so does the through-put of the network.

Details of the livestream are yet to emerge but if you are in the social media spaces of Telegram or Twitter, the links to these pages can be found below that are guaranteed to post the link very soon.

Zilliqa (ZIL) has been doing well in the markets especially with the TestNet version of the platform already available online. MainNet has been scheduled for release sometime in the third quarter of this year. ZIL is currently trading at $0.13 amidst a weak cryptocurrency market that has seen the token drop by almost 10% in 24 hours.
