John Carvalho, better known as bitcoin $BTC Error Log has set the cryptocurrency community abuzz by challenging Roger Ver, the CEO of bitcoin $BTC.com and massive BCH proponent to a fight, with bitcoin $BTC.com hanging in the balance, as revealed in an interview with Peter McCormack on the “What bitcoin $BTC Did” podcast.
The stipulations of the duel and the wager put forth by Carvalho has not yet been decided, the cryptocurrency community is excited about this confrontation. Carvalho has been very clear of what he wants if he wins, in an interview with Vlad Costea of Crypto Insider. The former said, “The best way to diffuse Roger [Ver] is to get bitcoin $BTC.com from him.”
Roger Ver will have an upper hand in a physical duel as he is a brown belt in jujitsu and Carvalho is in no way a qualified combat fighter. However, the man behind bitcoin $BTC Error Log said valiantly:
“I’ll train with the bears of Romania if I have to take bitcoin $BTC.com (from Ver).”
Peter McCormack has conveyed Carvalho’s proposition to Roger Ver on another episode of the “What bitcoin $BTC Did” podcast and is yet to know his decision, Carvalho, however, did confirm that “Roger is interested”. McCormack confirmed the same in a tweet that read:
“I interviewed Roger again. I guess you’ll @ me anyway. One thing that came out of this is @BitcoinErrorLog has offered to fight @rogerkver for the bitcoin $BTC.com domain. Roger is interested, terms, format and rules to be agreed. True story. bitcoin $BTC deathmatch anyone?”
When asked what he would do with bitcoin $BTC.com if he wins it in the fight, Carvalho was unsure and said that he would redirect it to bitcoin $BTC.org for the benefit of bitcoin $BTC.
Carvalho added:
“I’m not interested in exploiting it in any special way, even though it’s an extremely valuable domain. My main interest would definitely be in seeing it be the tool that everybody wishes it would be. You know, something that was for onboarding people and educating people about bitcoin $BTC — the real bitcoin $BTC.”
Since Roger Ver took over as the CEO of bitcoin $BTC.com, the website has received a lot of criticism of pushing a BCH narrative which Carvalho wants to change. Carvalho does not want the bitcoin $BTC community to be misled anymore through Roger Ver’s bitcoin $BTC.com, who is making the entire website about bitcoin $BTC Cash.
To balance out the wager, he stated that his new company Bitrefill, the bitcoin $BTC and altcoin mobile top up and gift code service, will implement bitcoin $BTC Cash. Carvalho added that the final decision on what the duel will consist of and what he would put up as the stake would be decided by Twitter.
John Carvalho and Roger Ver have locked horns before in a now infamous interview when the former pushed the latter on a number of topics including the semantics of the name bitcoin $BTC Cash to the BCH vs BTC peer-to-peer cash system.
