This work piece is handmade from extra thick solid hardwood (28 mm [1,1inch] / birch). It is finely sanded all around, the edges are pleasantly rounded and it is finally treated with natural linseed oil.
The workpiece nestles comfortably against the buttocks, enabling a relaxed and straight sitting posture. This stool is particularly suitable for people who prefer the heel seat (Seiza) with closed or close to each other legs/feet.
Thanks to its arrangement, feet positioned from the seat and outside, this stool/bench enables a firm sitting position even during longer meditation exercises and avoids slipping to the sides.
The chamfered seat provides a better weight distribution and is ideal for long periods of sitting in this position, which is usually painful for the untrained.
If used correctly*, numbness in the legs can be avoided (Obdormition prophylaxis).
*The head, neck and spine are held upright, chest and shoulders relaxed and the weight is centrally located in the lower abdominal area.
